I joined the Department in 2018 having previously held the post of Adjunct Professor of English in the Faculty of Education, School of Social Sciences at the University of Genoa in Italy.
My previous teaching experience includes teaching English for Academic Purposes at various UK institutions including the University of Portsmouth and Royal Holloway, University of London.
I hold a MA in Intercultural Communication (Distinction) from the University of Bedfordshire and a PhD in Applied Linguistics and Communication from Birkbeck College, University of London.
From 2013 to 2016 I was a Research Fellow in the School of Management at Royal Holloway, University of London where I worked on a project analysising the discursive construction of sustainability in organisational communication.
I am the Departmental Academic English Lead and the Departmental Director of Postgraduate Programme (PhD).
I am a Higher Education Fellow (FHEA).
I am a Critical Discourse Studies scholar and my research interests focus on the analysis of language, discourse and social dynamics within three main areas of communication: (trans/inter)national political communication; organizational/strategic communication; and intercultural communication (see under Research tab).
