About
I am working at the University as a Programme Coordinator for EquaDem - ESRC Equalities in Dementia Network Plus. The first national network dedicated to finding solutions to inequalities in dementia diagnosis and care. The network is co-led by Dr Clarissa Giebel from the University of Liverpool and Professor Dame Louise Robinson from Newcastle University.
I also work as a Public Advisor Researcher for NIHR Dementia and Neurodegeneration Policy Research Unit (DeNPRU), led by academics from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and the University of Plymouth, and was joined by Dr Clarissa Giebel in January 2024
In addition to this I am a Public Advisor within the Applied Research Collaboration North West Coast (ARC NWC) Project. This initiative brings together universities, local authorities, NHS organisations and the public, working together to research innovations and deliver projects that will improve public health, wellbeing and quality of care across Cheshire, Merseyside, South Cumbria and Lancashire.
I have a wealth of experience caring for family members with various types of dementia: including frontotemporal dementia (a rare form of dementia), Alzheimer's and vascular dementia and I am keen to support research aimed at improving dementia diagnosis, and care and to reduce the impact of inequalities
