Digital Culture and Society
Andrew's core research interests are in digital culture and society. In particular, he has provided critical accounts of the conflict and debate surrounding the free online circulation and sharing of music and other content. He is more broadly interested in cultures of digital 'sharing', and the digital surveillance and management of citizens as consumers and publics as markets. This work sees him drawing on political economy, critical theory, cultural theory and the approach of critical discourse analysis in order to engage with broad questions regarding the dynamics of contemporary capitalist social arrangements.
