Research

I am a macroeconomist with a special focus on household finance, labour, and international economics. Methodologically, my research combines rigorous empirical analysis with quantitative macroeconomic models informed by micro-data. I use these models to identify key economic mechanisms and assess the impact of policy interventions through counterfactual analysis.

Aggregate implications of microeconomic heterogeneity

A significant advancement in macroeconomic research has been the development of models that integrate the distribution of micro-level variables such as earnings and wealth. My research seeks to explore the interplay between micro-level inequality and macroeconomic outcomes, with a focus on the distributional effects of macroeconomic policies and shocks.

Drivers and implications of growth and innovation

My research focuses on both the impact of innovation, such as the effects of automation on local labor markets, and the underlying drivers of cross-country differences in income and consumption over the short and long run.
