About
I joined the Department of Politics in 2014, having previously held teaching and research positions at other institutions. I received my PhD in European Studies from the University of Salford in 2012.
Most of my research to date has focused on the EU as a counter-terrorism actor, with EU-UK security relations after Brexit being a further area of interest. An additional strand of my research is concerned with violent far-right actors. In 2022, I published a book, 'The European Union as a Global Counter-Terrorism Actor' (with Christian Kaunert and Sarah Léonard), and my work has appeared in prestigious journals, such as European Security, German Politics, and the Journal of European Integration.
I welcome PhD applications in any of my research areas.
