About
My scientific career began with my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science which I completed in 2017. From this, I have worked in both clinical and research laboratories. I joined the University of Liverpool as a Clinical and Molecular Pharmacology Research Technician in 2018 where I also completed my PhD research in Pharmacology. My PhD research focused on investigating the immunogenicity of drug-protein adducts and the role of MHC in drug-induced hypersensitivity reactions. During this time, I worked in a proteomics laboratory where I discovered my enthusiasm for mass spectrometry which has led me to the Centre for Proteome Research.
My current role as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate involves the processing of samples for other research groups as part of the Liverpool Shared Research Facility (LIV-SRF). This includes sample preparation and LC-MS/MS projects such as protein identification and protein quantification. As well as this I am involved in a long-term mass spectrometry-based research project.
