Schwartz Rounds provide a structured, facilitated and emotionally contained space for healthcare staff and learners to come together to discuss the emotional aspects of their work and support their capacity to deliver compassionate care. The Rounds help to normalise the strong emotions that arise from working in healthcare and enable staff and students to have greater insight, compassion for and appreciation of the roles and work of other healthcare staff. Licensed by the Point of Care Foundation, Schwartz Rounds run in over 260 organisations in the UK and Ireland – in NHS Trusts, ICSs, social care, universities and hospices.
- Dr Laura Golding is a clinical psychologist and Programme Lead – Schwartz Rounds in Higher Education for the Point of Care Foundation. She was previously the University of Liverpool’s Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme Director, is an experienced Schwartz Rounds facilitator and led the interprofessional healthcare student Schwartz Rounds at Liverpool for eight years
