Dean's Update

Published on

Although it’s been a dark January, at least there is some sparkle ahead to light up February, in the form of the LMSS Strictly Come Dancing event and the Ball. (View the details on Facebook if you would like to join in!)

February also sees the launch of two great new facilities for Cedar House: a bookable Anatomy Learning Zone on the ground floor of Cedar House and a new online School Booking System, that will allow you to book spaces in the Anatomy Zone, book to use the student committee room, request to book our ground floor conference room and book appointments that suit you, for meetings with the wellbeing team. The system also highlights the wonderful range of other conferences you are organising and other events that are open to you to book.

A further addition for February, is the availability of surgically acceptable headscarves. In response to previous issues for students on placements, these can now be obtained from the School Office.

These developments are a direct result of your suggestions, shared during meetings such as the upcoming Year 3 Pizza Break (Tuesday 4th February, G.15, Cedar House, 12.30 - 1.30pm) and my visits to the 5th year sites.

I really enjoy hearing the ideas you have and working with you to make our School a really great place to be.

Finally, for those of you who managed to attend the Chinese New Year celebrations throughout Liverpool last weekend - I hope you enjoyed the fantatsic parades, the decorations around the city and the great atmosphere. Liverpool has one of the longest established China Towns in Europe, so it is a great place to be during the celebrations.
