Eyes on the prize

The School's annual student prize evening marks the opportunity to publicly celebrate our student doctors who have demonstrated academic excellence, and exceptional skills in a range of areas including leadership, innovation and advocacy.

The ceremony for our 2018/19 winners took place in the VGM earlier this month, attended by the winners, their guests and School staff; it was particularly lovely to welcome back so many of our recent graduates to collect their awards.

The honour of presenting the trophies fell to Dean of the School, Professor Hazel Scott, supported by Deputy Director of Studies, Dr Iain Young, acting as our MC on the night.

Thank you to all those who attended, with a particular mention to our recent graduate Dr Elizabeth Peterknecht who tried her best to sweep the board, taking home an exceptional four prizes!

A special mention to talented student doctor Ioan Wardhaugh, who created a suitable soundtrack for the evening by playing his harp beautifully.

Congratulations to all of our winners!

The prizes acknowledge academic achievements as well as the wider range of non-scholastic skills that make our students versatile doctors of tomorrow.
