Before moving to the UK, I enjoyed a rewarding career in India for 10 years. In 2022, fuelled by my parents’ support, I set out to pursue my MBA from the University of Liverpool to gain a profound understanding of all aspects of business, and ultimately, move up the career ladder.
Taking a career break was a significant decision, and I am so pleased I took it. Pursuing an MBA requires careful thought and consideration. You may face hurdles along the way, but I hope you draw comfort and inspiration from my story.
My MBA experience was truly exceptional; not merely for shaping my career but also for meeting the remarkable MBA cohort and team. From the first day, it felt like being part of a close-knit family. It has been an incredible journey and an experience to cherish forever.
The Liverpool MBA is designed to prepare you for real-world challenges, so be ready to collaborate with your fellow MBA candidates and engage in thought-provoking discussions from day one.
My first tip for you as you embark on your MBA is to analyse everything you are taught from a practical work aspect as it will help you put theories into practice throughout your career. Second, engage with your professors as much as you can. Third and most importantly, enjoy this one year because it will most definitely transform you as a person and professional.
My MBA journey didn’t end with my graduation; I realised the importance of connecting with the University of Liverpool Management School to help and guide students in whichever manner possible. That is why I enjoy attending the University’s MBA events where I get to meet with current and prospective students and provide my insights as an alumna. Hopefully, I’ll get to meet you on campus sometime!
The MBA has been a transformative experience for me, and I hope it will be for you, too. It has profoundly impacted my approach to work, as the curriculum fosters the development of new perspectives and competencies. The coursework, assignments, networking opportunities and practical company engagements will refine invaluable skills that will prove immensely beneficial in your post-MBA career.
I wish you the very best for your success and happiness during your time at Liverpool and beyond!
