I am studying Master in Management (MiM) at the Management School.
Why did you choose to study a master’s at the University of Liverpool Management School?
I chose to study for a master’s at the University of Liverpool Management School because of the excellent reputation of the programme and the school. The Management School holds the prestigious triple crown accreditation, moreover, the curriculum for my course is tailored to provide a comprehensive understanding of the latest management theories and practices, which aligns with my career goals.
Additionally, the Management School offered me ULMS Future Leaders Award which covers my entire tuition fee, so that was the icing on the cake.
What’s the best thing about studying your programme?
The best thing about studying my programme is the diversity of the course content and the flexibility it offers. The program covers a wide range of topics, from finance and marketing to business analytics, giving me a well-rounded understanding of the field. Also, the programme offers a variety of elective modules, which allows me to tailor my education to my specific interests and career goals.
How do the facilities in the University and the Management School help you with your studies?
My studies have benefited greatly from the resources available at the Management School and the University of Liverpool. The Sydney Jones library has been very helpful to me throughout the assignments because it is well-stocked with a variety of resources, including books and research materials. Along with this, I have benefited much from the university’s careers studio because it is freely available and offers students insightful information. I think it is a wonderful initiative on the part of the institution to assist all students with their career-related questions and beyond.
What kind of support do you get from academic staff and tutors?
The academic staff and tutors at the University of Liverpool provide me with a wealth of support. They are knowledgeable, approachable and always willing to help with any questions or concerns. The tutors provide guidance on my coursework and help me to develop my critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In addition to this, they offer regular one-on-one sessions where I can discuss my academic progress and receive tailored advice. The academic staff and tutors are always available to support me, and their guidance and support have been instrumental in helping me to achieve my full potential.
Have you accessed any of the support services available to you, such as the School’s postgraduate careers team? If so, how did you find the service?
Yes, I have accessed the support services available to me, including the school’s postgraduate careers team. I found the service to be incredibly helpful and professional. They provide a range of resources and support, including CV and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and career counselling. They also organise events, such as networking opportunities and workshops, which provide valuable insights into the job market and help me to build my professional network. I would strongly suggest all students utilise this service to its fullest potential because it is really advantageous.
What do you enjoy most about the whole experience (thinking about any trips, social and extracurricular activities or guest speakers) and what value has that added?
The whole experience of studying at the University of Liverpool Management School has been incredibly enjoyable and enriching. One of the things that I have enjoyed the most is the activities organised by the Guild catering to various audiences throughout the year. Apart from this, my favourite part has been the city of Liverpool, it is a vibrant and dynamic city, offering a unique blend of history, and culture. I feel studying in Liverpool is a truly enriching experience, providing students with the opportunity to learn, grow, and explore in a dynamic and supportive environment.
How do you believe undertaking master’s study will help your career prospects?
I believe undertaking a master’s degree at the University of Liverpool will greatly enhance my career prospects. The programme provides me with deeper knowledge and practical skills, which will help me succeed in my field and make a positive impact in the industry. It also offers networking opportunities with peers and professionals, building valuable relationships and expanding my professional network. The master’s degree demonstrates my commitment to continuous learning and professional development, which is highly valued by employers. What advice would you give to anybody considering master’s study?
My advice to anyone thinking about master’s studies is to thoroughly investigate universities and courses to make sure it fits with your professional and personal objectives. Connect with alumni and current students to learn more about their experiences. Also, I would advise the students to be prepared to put in the necessary time and effort, approach the programme with an open mind, and be eager to challenge themselves and learn new things.
