What course are you currently studying?
I am currently pursuing my master's in Marketing.
Why did you choose to study a master’s at the University of Liverpool Management School?
I choose to study at Liverpool because it ranked 38th best university for MSc Marketing, plus it is a Russell Group university, which made me keep Liverpool as a top choice.
What’s the best thing about studying your programme?
The best thing about my course is that we get to do a lot of reading and we get to have an in-depth understanding of marketing-related topics and the modules we are covering.
How do the facilities in the University and the Management School help you with your studies?
The library, both online and offline has been super helpful during the research process for each of our module assignments.
What kind of support do you get from academic staff and tutors?
The academic staff have always been helpful. As many of our classmates weren’t used to the assessment method of writing essays the professors gave us proper instructions as to how to write and reference.
Have you accessed any of the support services available to you, such as the School’s postgraduate careers team?
I have used help from the Knowhow sessions, for improving my academic writing.
What do you enjoy most about the whole experience and what value has that added?
Our first good experience as a class would be the treasure hunt conducted by our former director of Studies, Dr Treasa Keanery, where the event helped us meet a lot of our classmates and was able to expand our connections with our classmates. We have also had guest speakers come to our lectures to speak, and I believe that has been insightful as well.
How do you believe undertaking master’s study will help your career prospects?
I feel like a master's study will enhance my career prospects significantly. By gaining specialised knowledge and advanced skills, I can become a competitive candidate for better job opportunities and career advancement. Also, you get to network with so many people in the same field or that are interested in getting into the same field.
What advice would you give to anybody considering master’s study?
Do your research well, before choosing whether or not you want to do a master's.
