Dr. Sushil Sainani is a senior lecturer in finance. He got his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Liverpool in 2017 and his Master's in Financial Economics from the Adam Smith Business School of Glasgow University in 2012.

Sushil's research focuses on identifying and quantifying the behaviours, abilities, and other distinctive characteristics of contemporary Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) that distinguish the corporate (financial and investment) policies of the companies they lead. Corporate finance, environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG), and market-based financial accounting are the main things he studies and teaches. His works have been published in leading academic journals across disciplines, such as the Journal of Corporate Finance (JCF) and the European Journal of Operational Research (EJOR), and have been featured in mainstream media outlets such as Fortune Magazine, CFA Institute Digest, Columbia Law School's Blog on Corporations and the Capital Markets (Columbia University) and Insigniam Quarterly

Sushil is a regular presenter/speaker at several prestigious academic conferences in accounting and finance including European Financial Management Association (EFMA), Financial Management Association (FMA), European Accounting Association (EAA), American Accounting Association (AAA), India Finance Conference (IFC), Multinational Finance Society (MFS) and British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA).
