About

Dr Danai Christopoulou completed her PhD at University of Bradford School of Management. She holds an MPharm (Hons) in Pharmacy, MSc in Marketing and Management, a PGD in Research Methods, and a PGCAP in Developing Academic Practice. Danai is also a Fellow of the Higher Education.

Danai’s research spans a range of topics in International Business with particular interest in the fields of institutional theory and institutional change, foreign direct invest and spillovers. Indicatively, she has investigated the role of institutions (and other country level characteristics) on Foreign Direct Investment determinants, flows and spillovers, the impact of Intellectual Property Rights on the International Business field in terms of entry modes, establishment modes, measurement, global economic growth and other issues. Danai also engages in pedagogical/education research focusing on the effect of digital tool and technologies (such as AI) on educators' teaching practices.

Danai has a rich teaching experience in the fields of Strategy and International Business, where she had designed and delivered a number of undergraduate and postgraduate modules. Her teaching is always informed by the most up-to-date research in the field, and employs a variety of tools and delivering methods such as links between the subject matter and Philosophy (Nicolo Machiavelli or Themistoklis), case studies, competitions, debates, technology enhanced learning (response system tool, computer simulations, Canvas).
