'From naming rights to rivalry: sponsorship and consumer behaviour'

Dr Terry Eddy will discuss his roughly 15 years work on sport sponsorship, with a particular focus on naming rights sponsorship.
The talk will cover a variety of emergent themes linking Terry’s work, including the importance of naming rights, contextual differences in responses to sponsorship, and the role of team identification in sponsorship processing.
Bio:
Dr Eddy joined the University of Windsor in 2017 in the area of Sport Management. He previously held Assistant Professor positions in Sport Management at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA, and St. John’s University in Queens, New York, USA.
Dr Eddy graduated with a Ph.D. from the University of Northern Colorado, under the advisement of sponsorship research pioneer Dr David Stotlar.
Dr Eddy’s research centres around sport marketing; particularly sponsorship and consumer behavior.
His research has been published in a variety of academic journals, including Sport Management Review, Sport Marketing Quarterly, and the International Journal of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship.
Dr Eddy regularly presents his research at national and international conferences, and currently serves on the editorial review board for Sport Marketing Quarterly, the Journal of Global Sport Management, and Case Studies in Sport Management.
