Agenda

TARNS music performance

The evening opens with a private acoustic performance by TARNS, the new music project by CSB academic and acclaimed artist and songwriter Dr Jennifer Davies.

Named after the Cumbrian term for a small mountain lake, TARNS is an ambitious project inspired by Jennifer’s research on our intricate relationship with technology, and her songs probe the looming threats of a dystopian future and how reconnecting with nature offers a pathway to enlightenment.

The project has already received support from Spotify and BBC Introducing, including a recent live recording at Liverpool's iconic Cavern Club.

Documentary

Following the performance, we will screen an inspiring film that raises one of the most importance challenges of our time: How can the business community tackle the world’s environmental crisis?

The documentary, created for WWF by the Emmy® Award-winning Silverback Films, outlines the scale of the biodiversity challenge we face, as the potential for crisis is real, but our situation is not hopeless.

The film combines stunning wildlife footage with insights from a range of experts, including Christiana Figueres, Chief Negotiator of the Paris Agreement, economist Kate Raworth and Dave Lewis, Tesco's co-founder and currently Chair of the WWF-UK, who explore what can be achieved if we reimagine ‘business-not-as-usual’.

There will be plenty for people to talk to an network over some ethically sourced refreshments!
