Each year the International Day of Peace (IDP) is observed around the world on 21 September. Every year the Peace Bell Ceremony is held in the Peace Garden at United Nations Headquarters. A minute of silence is observed to reflect on the necessity of peace and to recommit to its ideals.

LLM Study Trip: Geneva Summer 2023
This summer, I joined nine other Liverpool Law School LLM students on a study trip to Geneva. Professor Antal Berkes accompanied us on the trip, and we met Dr Vassilis Tzevelekos once we landed in Switzerland. The trip was an excellent opportunity to visit many prestigious institutions and gain more insight into our possible legal career paths.

I was delighted to have been selected as one of four PhD students from the University of Liverpool to be awarded a Fellowship to the University of Georgia. The Fellowship is a part of a partnership between the University of Liverpool with the University of Georgia, designed to incorporate staff and student mobility across all discipline areas.

The image is a variation of a familiar tableau – a group of often racialised people in life-jackets aboard a small boat, sometimes being helped aboard a lifeboat that will bring them to Britain.
