Personal Statement

Susan Canning is a lecturer in Digital Education and Innovation and the Director of the Centre of Educational Development and Support within The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the University of Liverpool, UK..
Susan has been an academic lecturer for over 22 years. Susan has a BSc (Hons), MSc, and PGCert and is currently a PhD Candidate in E-Research and Technology Enhanced Learning at Lancaster University. She is a Senior Fellow of the HEA and is working towards gaining Principal Fellowship accreditation.
In Susan's previous employment, she was a Programme Leader for the Network, Security and Forensics pathway with a subject specialising in Forensic Computing.
Her role is to work with academics to support and develop pedagogical and technological projects. Her research interests are Simulation, Immersive technology, and the student experience.
Since moving to the University of Liverpool, Susan has taken on the running of the centre in a time of a pandemic and has worked successfully to support faculty of HLS colleagues in managing the move to online teaching delivery and, at the same time, moving to a new VLE.
