About

Neil is Head of Clinical Operations for the Clinical Directorate in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences and is responsible for all Professional Services activities in the Directorate that underpin clinical research, including Sponsorship, human material governance, biobanking, clinical trials activity and clinical academic training. He is the Designated Individual for the University's HTA Research Licence (number 12020) and Designated Individual for the University's HTA Anatomy Licence (number 12022). Neil joined the University in 2008 as Senior Scientific Operations Manager for the MRC Centre for Drug Safety Science, working with the Centre Directors (Professor Kevin Park and Professor Sir Munir Pirmohamed) to deliver Centre strategy. Heled a team of staff that provided infrastructure support for Centre academics and provided a wealth of knowledge and experience in delivering large-scale project and programme grants involving multiple stakeholders from academia, industry and the NHS. Prior to joining the University, Neil spent several years in the biotechnology sector working on, and leading, active drug development programmes. He holds an honours degree in Biochemistry from the University of Warwick and a PhD in Cancer Sciences from the University of Manchester.
