About

Marta is a marine biologist with interdisciplinary expertise. Her background ranges from marine ecology, environmental education, quantitative and qualitative research to citizen science. She is now part of the CoOpt project team investigating social-ecological coastal systems and the way decision-making processes take place in these systems. Her research interest is in participatory approaches that allow for a more holistic approach to the decision-making process. Recently, she has also become interested in how research and policy can be linked and the use of gamification as a tool to engage hard-to-reach stakeholders.
