About

Personal Statement

I joined the University of Liverpool as a Lecturer in 2024. I worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow) for around 4 years after obtaining my PhD degree from Pennsylvania State University (USA) in 2020.

I am a cross-disciplinary researcher in Geotechnical Engineering, Rock Mechanics, and Microbiology. My research interests focus on improving the hydromechanical properties of geomaterials (soil, rock) and/or concrete using innovative grouting techniques such as microbially induced carbonate precipitation. This work addresses a series of geo-environmental issues related to soil instability, coastal erosion, leakage in rock and wellbores during subsurface storage, and degradation of storage sites for radioactive contaminants.
