Expertise
Governments, NGOs, local authorities, public services,
researchers and even private businesses all want to
know if their policies, programmes and projects and the
products and services they deliver to ‘customers’ really
make a difference. Impact assessment, in all its forms is
becoming a major focus for many organisations.
The University is playing an important global role in
the development of health impact assessment
methodologies, building capacity and capability
within and across organisations in all sectors; we also
undertake assessments for external organisations.
IMPACT (International Health Impact Assessment
Consortium) has longstanding success in the
development of health impact assessment method-
ologies and tools, now widely used around the world.
IMPACT aims to advance the utilisation of health impact
assessment to improve health and reduce health
inequalities. Communities, municipal authorities,
healthcare organisations, businesses and healthcare
providers can use health impact assessment methods
to identify potential health and wellbeing benefits of their
products and services so they can plan their research,
development and delivery to maximise these benefits.
