Exercise sheets 1 to 3

There will be 6 exercise sheets, sheets 1 to 3 dealing with LaTeX and sheets 4 to 6 dealing with Maple.

LaTeX sheet 1 and its "Solutions"

LaTeX sheet 2 and its "Solutions". Here's a hint for the exercise which asks you to write a command to produce characteristic polynomials.

LaTeX sheet 3 and its "Solutions". The file example.eps used in the sheet (for some reason Internet Explorer renames this to example.ps. Give it back its proper name when you save it).

Pinlabel

Here are instructions for installing the pinlabel package. You can also download some documentation for the package.

LaTeX installation instructions

These instructions tell you how to install LaTeX on your PC, using an installation CD which you can borrow from me.

texshell.ini file for use in room 302, and on your own computers

This file ensures that the buttons in TeXShell are properly configured for this module. There are two versions, one for use in room 302, the other for use on your own PC. (The version for your PC is included on the install disks, so you shouldn't need to download this one.)

You only need download this file once. In Internet explorer, click on the relevant link below, choose Save in the dialog box which appears, and save the file in your M:\texshell folder (room 302), or in the folder where you installed TeXShell (home PC). Make sure TeXShell isn't running while you do this, or it won't work!
