Tracking the starsThe image on the left demonstrates the need for the camera to track the apparent movement of the stars during long exposure astrophotography. Even with a wide-angle lens (here 35mm) the stars will produce short trails after only a few seconds.I have designed and built my own star tracker (see K2 star tracker for details) and have also used a commercial product, the iOptron SkyTracker. |
