Sc., Liverpool, 1992) went to UMIST and did a PhD with Wendy Flavell; was in Bristol writing software for Zuken-Redac R&D (ic/pcb simulation and design); now (Sept 2000) working in Santa Clara (silicon valley) for Silvaco International, working on software to model nanostructures for ICs. July 2001:now working at National Semiconductor in the TCAD group, coordinating a CIM project to automate model generation, data analysis, and process optimization from the wafer fab data---still in the valley. PDRA, moved to Cambridge University on a 5-year fellowship but returned to Liverpool to work with Dr. Chris Lucas and Dr. Richard Nichol. Now working in Medical Physics.

Now at Hahn-Meitner Institut, in Berlin (MRes, 1997-98); travelled for 18 months; further training 2003- (PhD, 1996-00), "Alkali metal and simple gas atom adsorption and coadsorption on transition metal surfaces") , working for Syntegra, an IT company in Surrey. Moved to Devon and training as a teacher as of 2004. Visiting student from Lannion, Bretagne (Feb-June 2001). Returned to France to complete his degree. PDRA, Surface Diffraction, post-doc in Manchester Chemistry (PhD, 1999-02, "10-fold surface of AlNiCo") , post-doc in Ames Laboratory, Iowa with Prof. Pat Thiel (PhD, 1997-2000, "Five fold surface of the icosahedral Al70Pd21Mn9 quasicrystal"), PDRA 2000-2004. Now a CNRS employee at LSG2M, CNRS UMR 7584, Ecole des Mines, Parc de Saurupt, 54042 Nancy Cedex, France. (PRDA 2000-2004), funded jointly with Prof. Ras Raval under the Marie Curie Host Development Scheme. Moved back to Germany Jan. 2005. Now (2005) a research scientist at University of Hamburg working at DESY. (PhD student 2002-2006), Now (2007) a research scientist at a Kelvin Probe company in Wick, Scotland.
