Registration
for Honours takes place at the end of the summer term, after the release of the
second semester examination results (Thursday
7th or Friday 8th June 2001) Lists
of students eligible for each Honours School will be posted on notice-boards at
the front of the School’s buildings, along with instructions for registration.
In general, if your name is on the list for the Honours School you wish
to enter, you will need to see the Director of that Honours School or another
member of staff at a specified time. You
will fill in a ‘Green Card’ together, which he will sign. You should then
register formally in the Science Faculty Office.
If you subsequently make any changes to your selected modules, you should ensure that your University registration is updated, by informing the Science Faculty Office of the change. This will ensure that you are entered for the correct Honours examinations.
If you have
to take resit examinations in September for any reason, your name will
not be on the list of eligible students. However,
a time will be given for students in your position to see each Honours Director.
It is very important that you discuss your situation with the Director of
your intended Honours School before the end of term.
It is vital that you do so if you intend to enter Honours Environmental
Biology, Environmental Science or Zoology, where a compulsory field-course is run in the summer.
If you know that you will be away at the end of term, you should see your intended Honours Director before you leave.
It is essential that you register with the Director of your intended Honours School before you leave for the summer vacation.
