Is there a Field Course?

These are compulsory components of the Environmental Biology, Environmental Science Plant Science and Zoology degrees.  The costs of these courses are subsidised by the School, but you will be expected to make a financial contribution to residence and subsistence costs.  

The dates of the field courses for 2001/2002 are:

Environmental Biology: Saturday 8th June – Saturday 16th June 2001

Environmental Science: Saturday 8th June – Saturday 16th June 2001. Students taking ESOC389 attend a 7-day ship-based course during the summer vacation

Plant Science: There will be a series of field visits. Contact the Director of Plant Science Honours for further details.

Zoology: Early September, Sunday 2nd September – Saturday 8th September 2001

Geography and Biology: Saturday 8th June - Saturday 16th June 2001. Students taking GEOG360 attend a field course in the Easter vacation 2002

You should be aware that the whole of the Honours course in Marine Biology is taught at Port Erin on the Isle of Man, where the University operates two student residences.

If you are aware of any circumstances that may affect your ability to attend a field course, you should discuss this with the Director of the Honours School as soon as possible.
