Explore the 2+2
Students studying on most undergraduate programmes at XJTLU have the option of completing the final two years of their dual degree here at the University of Liverpool.
If you are in stage 1 at XJTLU and are interested in the 2+2 programme, it is important that you choose a programme with a 2+2 option during the programme choice application.
If you are in stage 2, the Liverpool Mobility Manager at XJTLU, working with colleagues at both universities, will lead a series of information sessions and webinars to guide you through everything you need to know to successfully transfer to Liverpool.
Topics covered will include:
- Why choose the 2+2?
- Finding the right accommodation
- How to obtain your student visa
- Pre-arrival preparations
- The Liverpool Welcome.
Timeline for stage 2 students
September to December (Semester 1)
- Learn about the 2+2 route (see schedule of events below)
- Check programme information
- Attend information sessions and webinars
- Consider accommodation options.
January (Semester 1) and February (Semester 2)
- 2+2 application portal opens on e-Bridge
- Students without a valid passport should apply for or renew their passport.
March to June (Semester 2)
- Attend information sessions and webinars
- Take the TB test and get the TB certificate
- Deposit money for your Certificate of Deposit (CoD).
July (Semester 2)
- Check your final marks. If you have passed:
- Apply for your CoD
- Liverpool will send your offer and Certificate of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)
- Apply for UK Student Visa.
- If you need to re-sit exams, see August
- Attend sessions in the Get Ready for Liverpool pre-arrival module.
August (Semester 2)
- Re-sit student should check your final marks. If you have passed:
- Apply for your CoD
- Liverpool will send your offer and Certificate of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)
- Apply for UK Student Visa.
- Attend sessions in the Get Ready for Liverpool pre-arrival module.
September (Semester 2)
- Arrive in Liverpool in time for Welcome and induction activities.

Fees and scholarships
All students progressing to Liverpool from XJTLU via the 2+2 programme will benefit from a 10% XJTLU tuition fee award.
We also offer 50 XJTLU Excellence Scholarships. These scholarships are allocated to the students that score most highly in stage 2 at XJTLU across the different subject areas and are based on the number of applications received per programme.
