Lois Highfield

Project Officer

I graduated with a degree in English Literature and History from the University of Liverpool in 2020, and since then have worked in the education sector both as a secondary teacher and in a Higher Education recruitment and widening participation capacity. I was the first in my family to go to University and I am passionate about breaking down barriers to Higher Education, making it accessible for all students.

My role in the team is to coordinate the Pathways Programmes, which support young people who aspire to progress to Engineering, or Banking and Finance sectors. On these programmes, we work with students over a 2 year period from year 12 to year 13, improving key skills to enable them to make a successful progression into University and onto their future careers.

As well as this, I organise our Destination Dentistry and Destination Veterinary Summer Schools which provide an opportunity for year 12 students to explore what studying Dentistry and Veterinary Science is like at University.
