Nicola was appointed as Chief Financial Officer at the University of Liverpool in October 2017, and is responsible for all finance and procurement activity at the University, along with Strategic Planning and the Strategic Change team. She is also the executive lead for sustainability at the University and Chair of the Sustainability Board. Prior to her role at Liverpool, she held a number of roles at the University of Manchester including Deputy Director of Finance. Over the last five years, her roles have been focussed on delivery of change projects, including the design and implementation of new planning and reporting processes, and a finance restructure. She has been working within the HE sector for the last 15 years and is passionate about this sector. Nicola has a keen interest in staff performance and development and promotes continuous improvement as a way of working.
Before joining the HE sector, Nicola qualified as an ACA chartered accountant and worked in a number of accounting firms including Ernst and Young and Grant Thornton. She has a BSc in Mathematics from Newcastle University and an MSc in Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics from The University of Manchester.
