Zoo & Wildlife Post Mortem Examinations

• We routinely perform post mortem examinations (PME) for local zoos.
• We accept submissions for PME from zoos and safari parks; necropsies can be performed at Leahurst on animals up to 2 tons in weight; for larger animals, a field PME can be arranged upon request and based on staff availability
• Primate PME should be discussed with us in advance.
• The material obtained by the pathology service is used for both undergraduate and postgraduate training and research in veterinary pathology.
