We aim to make the road to vet school a little easier, whether it’s through interview tips, myth busters or just a little insight into student life!

We also aim to promote diverse role models and break the stereotypes of the veterinary and other animal-related professions by having a positive online and social media presence. Our achievements have so far allowed us to reach out to children from various backgrounds, exposing them to the versatility, ingenuity and value of veterinary and animal-related professions.
British Veterinary Ethinicity and Diversity Society (BVEDS)
Working to make the veterinary professions more diverse, inclusive and equitable to people from all backgrounds. BVEDS supports those working in the veterinary profession with issues of Race, Ethnicity, Diversity and Discrimination.

British Veterinary Association (BVA)
The BVA have produced a 'Applying to study veterinary medicine' guide which is designed to support students as well as adults who are in a position to advise them on their future careers. The aim is to clear up common myths and misconceptions when it comes to applying to veterinary school and ensure all involved have the correct information to help applicants take the first step towards a rewarding veterinary career.
Widening Participation programmes
These are dedicated programmes for students who have met widening participation criteria. These can include home postcode, carer status, free school meals and other identifiers. These programmes have been created directly with the University of Liverpool School of Veterinary Science.
Merseyside Young Health and Life Scientists
Starting in year 9, this supportive, three year programme works at enabling young people into medical based professions, including veterinary science.
Destination Vets is a three day widening participation residential summer school for Year 12 students. It will take place at the University of Liverpool, and will include a trip to our Veterinary Science campus, Leahurst, as well as our first opinion practice within Liverpool city centre.

Vet Team in a Box: COMING SOON.
This is an educational resource available to all schools in the UK, for year 9 students. This box contains an entire lesson, based within the biology subject area, which uses curriculum based skills (from all UK nations) to solve a problem within a veterinary related field. Tell your school teacher, tell your friends.
