Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
The Veterinary Postgraduate Unit offers a wide range of CPD opportunities aimed at veterinary surgeons, from day or evening workshops to develop practical skills, to studying towards a CertAVP.
Practical workshops
A comprehensive programme of practical workshops in equine, small animal and other disciplines are run year-round and take place at our Leahurst campus.
Online CPD mini modules
These online modules are developed and aimed towards the more experienced veterinary surgeon. Each module covers a range of topics, focussing on areas where there have been recent changes, advances or controversy, in a collaborative environment with plenty of interaction and discussion with peers and course tutors.
Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP)
This flexible postgraduate qualification allows you to choose subjects that are of most interest or relevance to you, to study across 2 years or more. All modules are also accredited by the University and can be put towards a postgraduate award in Veterinary Professional Studies.
All CPD courses are led by led by clinicians and researchers from the School’s referral hospitals, practices, farms and research facilities, or other renowned speakers from within the profession. As well as CPD, the Veterinary Postgate Unit also delivers a range of postgraduate degrees, including the CertAVP/Veterinary Professional Studies programme, aimed at veterinary surgeons and other veterinary health professionals.
