Campus Open Day
There’s no better way to get a feel for our campus and academic departments than to visit in-person.
Meet teaching staff to discuss your course of interest and find out where studying at Liverpool has taken recent graduates. Check out our accommodation and join campus tours led by current students for a real insight into life at Liverpool. You'll also have a chance to explore our libraries, the Sports and Fitness Centre, the Career Studio and Guild of Students. All students, both UK and international, are welcome.
Our 2025 Open Days are taking place on:
- Friday 20 June
- Saturday 21 June
- Saturday 20 September
- Saturday 11 October.
Open Day guide
You can view and download the full programme of activity in our Open Day guides, these are usually available one month prior to each event. The guide includes information about all the general and subject sessions, so you can start planning your day in advance of your visit.
You can also pick up a copy of the programme when you arrive at your Open Day.
Getting here
The University campus is just a short walk from the city centre and easily accessible by public transport. You’ll find useful information about getting here on our visiting the University webpages, as well as our online campus maps. A good place to head for if you're walking to campus is University Square, where you’ll find our main welcome stands on Open Day. The postcode of the Guild of Students on University Square is L3 5TR.
If you do intend to drive, please note that parking is restricted on and around campus, so we recommend using the city centre car parks. The nearest public car park is on Mount Pleasant (postcode L3 5TB) which is around a 5-10 minute walk from University Square. More information about this car park and other Liverpool council car parks can be found on the council car parks webpages. You'll also find a number of car parks at Liverpool One, around a 15 minute walk from campus.
Whilst we love seeing your furry friends exploring our external campus, dogs are not permitted inside University buildings or on university transport. Registered Assistance Dogs are welcome in all areas of the University.
Where to start
University Square is at the heart of campus and is your hub on Open Day. Here you can pick up a guide and a tote bag, get directions and chat to our helpful staff.
Attending one of the welcome talks is also another good place to start your day. Find out what it means to study at the original redbrick university, and why this could be the place for you!

Food and drink
We have plenty of places across campus to stop for refreshments, ranging from hot snacks and sandwiches to bar meals and pizza. You’ll find independent food vendors across our campus offering choices such as cakes, crepes and street food. There are also vending machines throughout our campus buildings providing hot and cold drinks and snacks if you'd prefer to grab something on the go.
Access and facilities
We aim to make your visit to our campus as easy and comfortable as possible. All our Open Day buildings are accessible and have accessible toilets. Changing Places toilets can also be found in the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre and Chadwick Building.
Open Days are usually very busy events, and some spaces can feel noisier than others. University Square is one of the busiest places on campus. There is a sensory room in the Sydney Jones Library equipped with sensory objects, dimmable lights, comfortable seating, and other amenities. There is also a designated Quiet Space in the Harold Cohen Library, this offers a place to unwind and decompress if needed.
Our Muslim prayer room is located on the lower ground floor of the Sydney Jones Library.
The University of Liverpool is proud to have joined the Breastfeeding Mayoral Quality Mark promoting our campus as a breastfeeding friendly environment. For further information and details of our breastfeeding friendly spaces, please visit Bambis Breastfeeding Friendly Charter. Baby change facilities can be found in the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, Victoria Gallery and Museum, Guild of Students and Eleanor Rathbone Building.
The University of Liverpool is delighted to be working with AccessAble to ensure that all of our students, staff, customers, and visitors have clear information on the accessibility of our campus and our buildings.
