Developing our careers and employability offer

In this podcast we chat with Iwan Williams about his new role as Head of Careers and Employability at the University of Liverpool and the vision he has to develop the service over the coming years.

As the Director of Careers and Employability, Iwan provides the strategic leadership and vision for an inclusive, impactful and digitally-enabled careers offer at the University of Liverpool. The aim is to develop a fully embedded employability vision that supports all students through their curriculum; to create an exciting and impactful extracurricular offer that engages students, encouraging them to try new things and make positive connections; and to create an open, friendly and accessible space for all students to easily benefit from expert careers support in our sector-leading Career Studio, staffed by our own amazing student Career Coaches.

Previous roles include working as an Employability Business Partner (and Careers Adviser!) at the University of Liverpool and Careers Adviser at Liverpool Hope University offering expert advice and guidance to students and graduates. Prior to this, Iwan has 10 years experience working with primary, secondary and post-16 FE children and young people in a range of settings including formal educational environments as well as community-based outreach.
