Dr Nada Reza is currently an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellow based within the Antimicrobial Pharmacodynamics and Therapeutics Group. She is undertaking a PhD investigating the molecular pharmacodynamics of amoxicillin in the treatment of community pneumococcal infection syndromes.
Prior to this, Nada completed undergraduate medical training at the University of Dundee from 2011-2017. In 2015, she completed an intercalated BSc in Immunity and Infection at Imperial College London, with a laboratory research project investigating the detection of Streptococcal Inhibitor of Complement in in vivo models of Group A Streptococcal infection. She then undertook the Academic Foundation Programme in the Scottish Highlands from 2017-2019, which included working as a Teaching Fellow in Inverness. After this she studied in East Africa for a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She moved to Liverpool in 2021 as an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow joining the APT group, initially undertaking research blocks alongside Internal Medicine training before commencing specialty training in Infectious Diseases & Medical Microbiology in 2023. She is also current Chair of the British Infection Association Early Careers Researchers' Committee.
