Culture and diversity

A truly sustainable institution needs equality and cultural diversity. We work to create a progressive and inclusive environment for our staff and students. Creating this environment helps us establish a culture of engagement and collaboration around sustainability.

Our Sustainability Strategy outlines our diversity and equality goals. In the strategy, you can find our alignment to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals on Reduced Inequalities, Gender Equality and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

We help staff and students learn how to champion sustainability in their lives. Our Communications and Engagement Group works to embed sustainability across the University. They develop initiatives and activities to achieve our sustainability aspirations.

Partnership, communication and engagement

We run a number of programmes that reach out to the local community and engage with the public. We partner with our local and wider community to address sustainability issues.
