How do I use Warp It?
The below provides a useful overview of the features and functionality of the Warp It platform.
Detailed guidance on how to use each of its features is provided on the platform itself. Users are also guided by messages and alerts with information specific to university processes and procedures.
Registration
Registration for Warp It is available to all University of Liverpool staff with an ‘@liverpool.ac.uk’ email address. Simply visit www.warp-it.co.uk/liverpool and sign with your university account details. You may be prompted to verify your identity using the DUO app.
Listing
Warp It functions much like other online marketplaces, allowing you to easily list items and to add a description, dimensions, photos and location. The date of availability can specified allowing items to be listed and reserved in advance. Items should be listed for a minimum of 4 weeks, however it is expected that many items will be claimed and exchanged before the end of the listing period.
Searching
Warp It allows users to search the database of available items by category and using key words.
Claiming
Claiming items is simple using the Warp It platform. Once claimed, items are reserved, and both the owner and claimant are notified and provided with further instructions on how to arrange collection.
Requesting
Warp It includes a wish list option, allowing the specification of items required. When items matching this description are listed, a notification is sent to those with matching items on their wish lists.
Collection
Collection of small items, such as laptop risers and computer keyboards, can be coordinated individually. Transportation of any items larger or heavier than this, or items that individuals do not wish to collect themselves, must be arranged with the University’s Heavy Gang. All requests must be made on PlanOn via the Property and Campus Services Hub. For bulk and urgent clearances, please contact the Heavy Gang to discuss.
Storage
Items that are of value to the University but have not been claimed on Warp It, will be transferred to the University's Central Store facility, where they will remain available to claim for an extended period. To arrange transfer of unclaimed items to the Central Store, item owners will need to update the item listing accordingly and log a transport request with the Heavy Gang via PlanOn.
