About the event
Join us for a FREE lunchtime film screening of Children of Men at the Victoria Gallery & Museum, Learning Suite, as part of Sustainability Week 2024!
Children of Men was voted for by staff and students on a recent poll on the Sustainability social media channels, and is a 2006 dystopian action thriller set in 2027, after human activities have produced an ecocide with widespread deleterious effects on the environment; eighteen years of total human infertility, war and global depression, which can be seen as symbolic of humanity's very real global climate emergency, threaten the collapse of human civilizations. Asylum seekers seek sanctuary in the United Kingdom, where they are subjected to detention and refoulement by the government.
Please note: Children of Men deals with sensitive topics and contains extremely intense scenes of warfare and xenophobia. For further information please visit IMBd or contact sustainability@liverpool.ac.uk

If you do NOT want your photograph to be used in future marketing materials please contact us at sustainability@liverpool.ac.uk.
