About the event
Join our Carbon and Energy Officer for a guided tour of the University’s Energy Centre to learn how it has successfully helped the University of Liverpool to reduce its carbon emissions, and what we are doing to decarbonise our campus as part of Sustainability Week 2024!
This tour will give participants an understanding of the important role our combined heat and power (CHP) gas engines and heat network have in meeting the daily energy demands on campus. It is great opportunity to see the impressive, large scale plant and equipment up front whilst learning about the energy/carbon saving benefits of operating such systems. The visit will also give an insight into the challenges faced by universities operating energy centres moving forward with regards to future energy demands, climate change resilience and achieving Net Zero carbon targets.
There will be a photographer on site taking pictures at this week's events. If you do NOT want your photograph to be used in future marketing materials please contact us at sustainability@liverpool.ac.uk. You may withdraw your consent at any stage in the future, however this will not apply retrospectively to material already in circulation.
