Martha Vidor Scholarship for Music and Audiovisual Media
The Martha Vidor Scholarship for Music and Audiovisual Media is available to UK students studying MA Music and Audiovisual Media.
In each academic year, one scholarship will be made available to a UK student progressing to the MA Music and Audiovisual Media programme. The scholarship takes the form of a partial tuition fee reduction, worth £5,000.
UK applicants of both pathways (Academic and Practical) are eligible to be considered, providing the conditions below have been met.
Application process
There is no separate application process for the scholarship, but applicants should use the standard MA application form to identify ways in which they expect the programme to allow them to fulfil their educational and music professional ambitions.
You should also share a link to a single example of your scoring to picture work. Please ensure you comply with the following requirements:
- The example can be a single clip, or a montage of work, around five minutes
- The clip can be hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox, ReelCrafter or any other hosting service
- Please make sure there are no password requirements, or anything else that will prevent access, and that the link you share does not expire.
Conditions
- Applicants must be UK students and able to demonstrate this.
- The eligibility of applicants will be considered as part of the standard application procedure. There is no separate application process for the scholarship.
- As part of the standard application process, applicants may be expected to provide a sample of their written and/or creative work, as relevant to their expected pathway.
- The successful candidate will keep the University regularly updated on their progress and achievements.
- The successful candidate will be required to assist in the promotion of the scholarship and the MA Music and Audiovisual Media programme as appropriate and when requested to do so.
- The scholarship will take the form of a partial tuition fee reduction, worth £5,000, against the full-time UK tuition fee for that particular year (currently £10,800 as of September 2024).
- The scholarship is conditional on successful academic progress and demonstration of professional behaviour. The panel reserves the right to withdraw or suspend the Scholarship if there are any reasons for concern.
- Due to the nature of the award (i.e. tuition fee waiver) it cannot be claimed in conjunction with another scholarship or bursary which constitutes a reduction on tuition fees (e.g. the UoL Graduate Loyalty Advancement Scholarship).
- No cash alternative is available. Should the successful student decide to permanently withdraw from their studies, the award will be forfeited. A student who wishes to suspend their studies and resumes them at a later date will be able to claim the remainder of the scholarship on a pro-rata basis, depending on the proportion of the programme already studied.
Applicants are required to apply for the MA Music and Audiovisual Media programme by 20 July 2024.The successful candidate will be informed by 1 August 2024 or soon thereafter.
