Our Postgraduate Global Advancement Scholarships - Country and Achievement offer generous tuition fee discounts to eligible new international students. These awards are based on your nationality and prior academic achievement.

Awards
If you're a new international student, who hasn't studied with us before, you could be eligible for a tuition fee discount of up to £5,000. This includes a £2,500 discount if you have a first-class degree, or equivalent qualification, and a £2,500 discount for specific nationalities.
This means you could be eligible for one or both of:
A tuition fee discount of £2,500 with a Postgraduate Global Advancement Scholarship - Country
You could be eligible to receive a tuition fee discount of £2,500 if you're joining an eligible course and a national of one of the following countries:
- Africa: Botswana, Cameroon, Egypt, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Kingdom of Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Togo, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia
- Asia: Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, India, Japan, Malaysia, Maldives, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam
- Caribbean and Americas: Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico, Saint Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and The Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago
- Europe: Cyprus, Malta, Turkey
- Australia and Pacific: Australia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu.
A tuition fee discount of £2,500 with a Postgraduate Global Advancement Scholarship - Achievement
You could be eligible to receive a tuition fee discount of £2,500 if you're joining an eligible course and have a first-class degree, or an equivalent qualification as defined by the University of Liverpool.
If you're domiciled in the People's Republic of China when making your master's application, we're unable to offer you this £2,500 discount, but you could apply for our Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship for China.
If you combine this tuition fee discount with other scholarships or bursaries, the total discount will be capped at 50% of your tuition fee.

Eligibility criteria
To receive this scholarship, you'll need to:
- Be joining an eligible master's course, including MRes programmes, from September 2025
- Be studying on campus in Liverpool
- Be paying the tuition fees for the course yourself at the international rate
- Accept your offer of a place and pay your tuition fee deposit by the deadline indicated in your offer letter.
We won't be able to offer you this scholarship if you:
- Studied at University of Liverpool International College, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), or completed your undergraduate degree at the University of Liverpool. If you've studied with us before, including as a Study Abroad, Exchange or XJTLU student, you could be eligible to receive a tuition fee discount through our University of Liverpool Graduate Loyalty Advancement Scholarship
- Will be studying online
- Are having your fees paid by a sponsor, such as a government, commercial organisation or employer, on your behalf
- Are joining a PGCert, Professional Doctorate (including DDSc awards), MPhil, MArch or PhD, or any master's course that isn't listed above.
If you've applied for or intend to study part time, any tuition fee discount you're eligible to receive will be applied at a pro-rata rate over the duration of your course. For example, if you intend to study over two years, you'll receive 50% of the tuition fee discount in each year.
How to apply
No application is necessary. The Postgraduate Global Advancement Scholarship - Country and Postgraduate Global Advancement Scholarship - Achievement will be awarded to all eligible students who meet the criteria up to a maximum of £5,000.
This award has no exchangeable cash value. We reserve the right to withdraw the scholarship at any time, including if programme capacities are reached.
