Meet the coaches

Say hello to your coaches!

Arianne

Hey! I'm Arianne, and I'm currently in my second year of my Politics undergraduate degree. I love running, partying with my friends and exploring Liverpool! My ideal day in the city involves brunch at Papillion, a walk around the Georgian Quarter and a pint at a local cozy pub. As someone who also only started receiving disability support at university, I understand the difficulties of a late diagnosis so I am keen to share my knowledge of the university services to help others get the same support.

Sylvia

Hey, my name's Sylvia, and I am in my third and final year of studying Politics and Film here at Liverpool. I love films, especially psychological thrillers; I also love running, which I have only gotten into recently and am very grateful for. As a disabled student myself, the university has not only helped me get my diagnosis but also supported me throughout my studies. From understanding the struggles of not getting the right support from earlier education, I hope to help students at the University get the assistance they need. I would like to consider myself a caring and considerate person who will help to answer all of your queries to make your university experience a little easier.

Ben

Hello, my name is Ben. I’m a second-year student studying Popular Music here at the University. I am passionate about live events, film and all things music-related. Being a disabled student, I’ve accessed the range of support the University has to offer and understand the potential challenges disabled students face. I love a chat and I’m always happy to help with any queries, questions or concerns.

Eva

Hey! I'm Eva (pronounced Ay-Vuh), and I'm a 2nd year International Business student. University is amazing, but also challenging to navigate while balancing studies with a disability and/or long-term health condition. As a disabled student myself, I understand this experience firsthand, and I'm here to be your confidential, non-judgmental friendly face for advice and guidance. My goal is to help you feel supported, empowered, and truly able to thrive. Always happy to help, or even just be a listening ear.

Jess

My name is Jess, and I am a final year undergraduate student studying Communications and Media.  Uni life is challenging at the best of times, and as a neurodivergent person living with chronic pain and fatigue I know how overwhelming everything can feel at times.  I’m really excited to be a part of this team to be able to support my peers in navigating the system and having the best experience they can here, because we all deserve that. When I’m not sleeping or checking out the Liverpool nightlife, I spend a lot of time listening to music, journaling and making lists, or watching commentary videos on YouTube about topics I would probably struggle to explain to my grandparents.

Joel

Hi, I’m Joel and I am a final-year Business Management student. Outside of my studies, I’m involved with the UoL Racing Society and really enjoy our go-kart meets; also I am a keen cricket fan! Having received a late diagnosis towards the end of sixth form, I know how hard it can be to navigate uni without the correct support. I’m here to be a friendly and approachable point of contact to answer any questions that you may have - whether you need assistance with DSA, need to be signposted, or need practical advice based on your situation. Ultimately, I’m here to ensure you receive the support you deserve so you can fulfil your potential both on (and off) campus!
