Diamond Light Source
Diamond Light Source is the UK’s national synchrotron light source. Diamond opened in 2007 and will have 32 operational beamlines by the end of the phase III build in 2017. The synchrotron is situated on the Harwell Science campus.
There are a wide range of synchrotron techniques that have been used in the environmental sciences. Diamond has extensive links to the Manchester SEAES and will look to play a full part in the DTP by:
- contributing guest lectures to the formal training programme;
- offering places on our synchrotron training schools to DTP students;
- collaborating on outreach opportunities where feasible
sponsoring at least 2 CASE students, who would spend part of their time based at Diamond.
