Lewis Wrightson
I am a NERC DTP funded PhD student based at the University of Liverpool. My research is focused on ocean biogeochemistry in particular marine nitrogen fixation. The title of my project is “The impact of multiple stressors on marine nitrogen fixation”, I am supervised by Dr. Alessandro Tagliabue and Dr. Claire Mahaffey. Prior to my PhD I studied at the University of Liverpool for four years and successfully graduated from the integrated Masters of Ocean Science degree (MOsci).
The main aim of my research is to investigate the impact of multiple environmental factors upon the process of marine nitrogen fixation. This will be investigated using a global model based approach using the NEMO-PISCES ocean biogeochemical model. The research will aim to improve the way that marine nitrogen fixation is represented within models, improving understanding of spatial/temporal patterns of marine nitrogen fixation and the impact climate change will have upon this process.
