An Assessment Appeal can be submitted against:
- Provisional and finalised assessment/module marks
- Awards (or non-awards or exit awards)
- Classification of Awards
- Extenuating Circumstances Committee decisions
- Clinical Assessment Panel decisions
- Academic Integrity Committee decisions (Category C-E Penalties only).
Before you submit an appeal, you should seek advice and read the assessment appeals procedures and guidance.
If you wish to appeal or have a query about your marks or awards it is advisable to contact your School in the first instance.
The Assessment Appeals Procedure can be found in the Code of practice for assessment.

The Guild of Students can offer impartial and professional advice on the Assessment Appeals process (guildadvice@liverpool.ac.uk ).
The University reserves the right to reject an appeal if the appeal form is not completed in full, the appeal is not submitted within the deadlines or has been submitted without evidence. Students cannot submit an appeal to request a remark or disagree with academic judgment.
Students are not permitted to graduate whilst the appeal is being considered and the University cannot guarantee that consideration of appeals will be considered prior to graduation, further assessments or the start of a new academic year.

The Procedures and Guidance notes detail the grounds for appeal and provide information and guidance on relevant evidence you can submit.
The deadline for Stage One Appeals is 10 UK Working Days after the release of results.

STAGE TWO APPEAL:
Where a Stage One appeal is not upheld you can request a review of this decision by submitting a Stage Two appeal.

The deadline for submitting a Stage Two appeal is 10 UK Working days after the Stage One outcome.
