The reporting process
This section outlines the expectations surrounding what and how the external is expected to report to the institution. Externals working at different levels (Subject Level, Programme Level and Award Level) are expected to comment on slightly different things, and are expected to attend different meetings – those differences are highlighted here. In addition, we look at what should be included in the annual report, and a couple of short examples of good practice are offered. Once the report is completed, it enters a feedback loop which allows the department to take appropriate action based on the report (and allows students to view the report). That action is then reported to both the Faculty and to the external so that s/he can see where advice has been taken.
