Surfing
Welcome to the University of Liverpool Surfing club
Livsurf is the club to join if you’re looking for an exciting, non-competitive club with great socials, exotic trips and a chance to try something completely new. With UK-based trips to the likes of Cornwall and Wales to the warmer climates of places such as Portugal, Fuerteventura and Morocco, there’s definitely a trip for you. Livsurf is completely welcoming to all abilities. We’ll take you whether you’ve always surfed, or never set foot on a board in your life.
Competitive
The first trip of the year sees us venture down to Newquay for a long weekend of surfing, fish and chips and late nights exploring the nightlife this little sea-side town has on offer. This trip coincides with the annual British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) competition so, for any of the more experienced surfers out there, there is the option to compete. No matter what ability you are this is a fantastic weekend for the whole club and the favourite trip of many.
As well as the big trips to Newquay, if the surf’s up we also offer smaller day trips to spots in North Wales and Scarborough, so if you’re ready to brave the cold, we can surf all year round. But, if you don’t think a full wetsuit and hood in the middle of February is your cup of tea, we also run a couple of foreign trips each year. These trips always incorporate professional coaching, as well as an amazing time in the sun with all your friends.
All trips provide transport, accommodation, surf-gear, and a day’s teaching so if you’re a beginner don’t fret, we cater for everyone!
Social events
Socials run throughout the whole year, with bar crawls, themed nights out, surf movie nights and a celebratory meal to mark the end of each term.
