Mountaineering
Welcome to the University Mountaineering club
If you’re interested in getting involved in rock climbing, bouldering, hill walking, winter walking, scrambling, mountaineering or just getting outdoors in general - then this is the club for you! Anyone is welcome to join; whether you are a weathered expert or a complete beginner.
Competitive
If you are interested in representing the University in regional and/or national competitions - we encourage you to join the squad… but as always, climbing for enjoyment is also heavily endorsed!
We run regular trips to North Wales, the Lake District and the Peak District. They range from single-day adventures to weekend-long escapades to remote huts in the countryside and all equipment is included.
Training times
We make use of Liverpool's excellent indoor climbing facilities each week on the below days and times.
Day | Time | Venue |
---|---|---|
Monday | 6pm | The Climbing Hanger |
Wednesday | 2pm | Awesome Walls |
Every so often we practice at the University Bouldering wall in the Sports and Fitness Centre.
Social events
You won’t always find us in the mountains - we have a buzzing yet extremely friendly social life. Our regular socials include weekly meetups at our local pub, Athletic Union nights, the occasional pub crawl, house parties, and more!
