Fencing
Welcome to the University of Liverpool Fencing club
Whether you have never fenced before or if you are already a competitive fencer, the University of Liverpool Fencing club has something for everyone.
Competitive
There are many opportunities for our members to compete individually in Liverpool and across the country as part of the club trips, as well as to join the men's or women's teams competing in the British Universities and Colleges Sports leagues.
Social sport
If you don't want to compete and just want to have fun fencing, that's great too! There are plenty of opportunities for new fencers to train throughout the week and get a feel for the sport. We provide all the necessary kit, so you just need to turn up. Please note that as fencing is an expensive sport we have subs for joining the club in order to maintain and fix any broken kit and equipment for you throughout the year.
Performance
We are also one of six chosen performance squads within the University which means our first teams get extra support such as strength and conditioning to help achieve our ambitious goals. Our women's first team has currently competed in the premier league, whilst our men's first team finished in the first in the 2A league and won the men's northern conference cup last season.
Training Times
We run sessions 3 times a week for both recreational and team training in the sports and fitness centre.
